About the Baker

Larkin has been baking cookies with devotion since the third grade. Prior to moving to the Stone House in 2024, she was famous among friends for her cookie creations and experimental desserts. She's long wanted to own and operate a far-out roadside attraction, and the cookie stand is the first iteration of that.

Originally from Southern New England mill towns, Larkin and Sean lived on both coasts before settling here in New Hampshire. They were drawn to New Hampshire's natural beauty, epic swimming holes, freedom-loving values and business-friendly environment.

Larkin is also a longtime artist and maker, and she sells her hand-embroidered wearable art online and in person at craft shows around New England. You can check out her work at larkinandlarkin.com or on Etsy.

About the Stone House

The Stone House was built in 1848 by Robinson Bertwell. Bertwell was born in the Northern English town of Great Harwood, and he was inspired to build a stone house by the stone houses he remembered from his boyhood in England.

Bertwell built the Stone House himself along with two men from Pocket Mountain in Ossipee. The stones were all cut from boulders found on the property, and you can still see his cuttings in the standing stones scattered around the yard.

We think there should be more stone houses in the Granite State!
